This is the Robert Stockton often referred to as the "Elder" or "Reverend" and was a Baptist preacher (Dripping Springs Baptist Church). Robert and his family migrated from Virginia in 1799. Information from "The Times of Long Ago, Barren County, Kentucky", by Franklin Gorin. This book also states that Robert was a Revolutionary veteran with no documentary reference. Robert was a minister of the gospel for over 50 years.
